Spinners from KwaZulu-Natal and Swaziland went to battle at the ZCBF Showgrounds in Richards Bay on Saturday.
With a summer’s heat raging down on the oval circuit, crowds gathered for what was touted as a “crazy event”.
Preshu Singh and Michelle Loosemore, organisers of the event, made sure that the crowd had a show to cheer for.
KZN VS Swaziland

Nine teams from Swaziland competed. Ricky from team Liqui Moly, Lynix team Swazi, Nathi team Swazi, Nkoskhona Hakuna Matata, Lihle Hakuna Matata, Jikzo, Eddie team Brema, Xoli Manyakaza and the Masina Brothers.
Representing KZN was Nevelan, Shahil, Jakagarage, Crazy Chase, Leeboy, Charline, Kenny and Kim Marx, Chamlyn, DJ, Nolan Crazy Frog, Kokstad Crew, Reece Williamson and brothers Luke and Cameron Peters.

Besides the score of E30 BMW’s that entered, some rare spinning vehicles like a RB25 swapped Mercedes-Benz Kompressor showed-off. A 4th generation Toyota Soarer from Swaziland also laid down some rubber.
But as usual, the ‘box shapes’ dominated the event.
‘Putting show’
Nevelan’s red all-motor E30 screamed with aspiration as he drifted around the oval circuit with poise and equal ease. So too, did the Swaziland team Masina brothers ‘rust-finish’ blue E30.

There were also a few close calls, with Chamlyn Goosen touched the barrier while freestyling his Mercedes-Benz. A few drivers also went into the grass patch while drifting the oval.
The ladies did not let-off for a second either. Both Kim Marx and Charline Potgieter putting on an incredible display of power and control in their BMW E30.

The next round
Good news bad news however, as no winner was crowned.
“At the end of all the action, we had a draw. Both KZN and Swaziland won. We are going ahead to the next round which will take place in Swaziland on December 14. KZN teams will have to travel to Swaziland to crown a winner. So we actually got the best of both worlds with the draw,” Preshu Singh told Auto Rush.
